Suggestions:
-2x money gain
-Start with $5000
-Your starter choice is automatically shiny
-(if you have an account already) get an item to make a pokemon shiny
-option to buy master ball at pokemart -or- start game with (i.e. 5 master balls)

Any other suggestions?

These are just suggestions and not what I am looking to be implemented and are all open for feedback!

Most of those options are too good to be true, in a bad way. I was thinking of in the professors house, where you start, you can go through a hallway for members only and get the Johto starters. But maybe Fint will have Johto starters available when you start in Johto. :\ Not sure how that's going to work.

And the 2x money is a bit too much money. I mean, I have like 15k money right now and I spent like 5-7k on items before I reached that amount, and 2x that amount is a bit too much. It can be lowered to x1.5, or x1.75.

Yea true, what i put above are examples as you probably know but thank you for your feedback.. perhaps 50% more money earned so it would be like x1.5 and im sure people would want something good in return for spending about $20 in byond but it would be very unbalanced for non-subrscribers and not fair as I would be one of the non-subscribers because my parents wouldnt let me pay anything to any game =(

Yeah , it wouldn't be fair Citrine shouldn't be like other games it should be free and balanced, and everyone should be able to get the same stuff as everyone else. Neutral

What about this, Regular members can also get johto starters but its harder for them to get them, while Byond get them when they start. So lets say, you have to beat Kanto, then on Johto you get them but if your a Member you get them from the start. In other words, let byond members get them faster or easier than normal, but normal still will get them. Sounds pretty fair to me. They did pay $ 20 for it and they support the game as well.

If you think about it logically, you'll see that normal people will get Kanto starters at first, and Johto starters afterwards when their in Johto. While members of Byond can get the Johto starters at first, but nothing at the beginning of Johto. So it's a bit of a disadvantage.

In no way do byond members support my game.
The only way I can get a any "support" is when someone makes a new account, being my referal. Then they buy a membership account, and I get a bit for introducing them to BYOND.
That's it, and to whoever said "Citrine should be free", I don't agree.
I spend way to much time making this game I think i deserve something in return.
But BYOND and copyright laws won;t let me.
So my only chance on ever getting anything in return is by getting loads of people from outside BYOND to sign up and become a member.
In other words I need to make this game interesting for members to play.

Well, Fint in a way i do agree with you and you have put alot of work into your game but if you think about it, and the econimy most people are quitting their byond memberships, i had one awhile back but i quit mine.Go ahead and make "Extra bonuses" for your game, but people won't really play because they'll get mad, at the fact that your giving bonuses to members. And probably not play.

How about this? Members can choose between kanto and johto starters at creation. Then when they reach johto they can pick between the 6 starters yet again. While normal players can just pick of the johto starters when they get there.

I dont totally agree but I know where your headed, the point is people should get something in return and it doesnt have to be a huge difference and I know for sure that i wouldnt quit if someone else got bonuses that I can get at a later time in the game. It just takes some time and we're all still tryin to agree on some of these things!

Eh, I got a better idea. Byond members aren't really supporting you unless you get them to referal you, so I got a much better idea. You implement something called Pokepoints. Any time someone donates to you personally, depending on the amount they can get pokepoints, these pokepoints can go towards a special shop with items, tms, pokemon that others don't have the access to. Each entrance into the shop cost 100 pokepoints, and items can be like. A special stone that evolves any pokemon regardless of level. Various pokemon(not legendary) that you won't really be able to catch in the wild, maybe a few TMs that aren't in the game yet. This way you can get paid for your hard work, and give something back to the community paying you. I think it is a much better idea than just byond members, since byond members aren't supporting you.

well this all goes back to making the game unbalanced, its a nice idea but we dont want items or pokemon that non-member cant get, that wouldnt be fair and it would be easier for members to be top of the game, the goal is to come up with ideas of things that everyone can access, but make it easier for members to access.

That seems unfair. They're just sort of buying extra features.

I disagree, I see it as we are helping the game grow far faster and stronger by giving extra money and resources, which in turn motivates the creator Fint to do a little more push into the game and stuff. Think about it. He goes to work, works his butt off, comes home, works his butt off on the game, and what does he get in return? A few thank yous and stuff like that. I believe that this would help him, as well as help members of the game have a much more enjoyable environment. As for pokemon that others can't get? Well think of it this way..All of them can earn the pokemon, every last person can, the same way someone can go out and catch a shiny. You just have to put the effort into doing it, so it isn't unfair. Instead of searching for hours you are giving money for a particular pokemon. As for extra TMs and stuff? Look at it this way, maybe you can go into a shop and get TMs without having to get into the special shop. Evolution stone? Probably the most expensive item in there, and the most exclusive thing. Fint deserves credit for his work, money even through donations, but that doesn't mean the donators can't be rewarded for sending 5, 10, 20 dollars to him each month.

Being a Byond Member! Empty Re: Being a Byond Member!

Post by Tenes Mon Apr 20, 2009 8:19 am

This is how I see it as offers, though this is only suggestion.
-Possible pokemon such as snorlax, etc, that isn't in the wild at the moment that could be bought with the pokepoints.
-TMs that are already won, but maybe the ability to buy an extra TM to put on more than one pokemon, maybe a special one or two.
-That evolution stone I mentioned, maybe called the Citrine Stone.
-A casino maybe to deal with your own money to possibly try to win more.

Why I believe it is fair?
Pokemon: If one person can own a top notch shiny, and no one complain that we all can't have shinies, why can't a few people go out and get a special pokemon that others don't have? It is as simple as that, if they wish to spend their money IRL on the possibility of getting a special pokemon out of a special shop it is their business, every member has the opportunity to do so, if they don't get it, that isn't anyone's fault but their own. I dub it fair since everyone has an equal chance to get it.
TMs: This is something that is in short supply, but say you don't train something properly and wish for another identical TM in order to give to a baby that was born from the same pokemon. Fair? It could be argued that it isn't, but again, it is available to anyone that donates correct? So everyone has equal opportunity.

Each and everything I mentioned as a possible prize, or perk to donating or doing so is 100% available to every member of the game as an equal opportunity. Each person is able to donate, each person is capable of donating, it is the choice of whether they want to or not that is in question. If jealousy is a problem, then they can donate as well. This is a unique game from a unique creator who is bringing the world of gameboy pokemon to us all, and supporting that is something that brings motivation to keep it going for a long time. This suggestion of him doing this is simply to give a perk to aiding him in his endeavor of bringing a fun game to all of us. That is all, I have elaborated.
